The 6 Best Places to Visit With Your Squad

January 28, 2016 3 min read

With the right group of people, even a trip to the garbage dump can be fun.
So imagine how epic it will be when you are your besties touch down on the runway in the fabulous destinations that follow. Whether you’re after adrenaline-fueled adventures, fine food and even finer cocktails, a culture-infused getaway, or just a killer tan—we’ve got some ideas for you.
Oh, and you don’t need to wait for a milestone birthday or a bachelorette party to take these dream vacations. True friendship with your favorite people—now that’s worth celebrating.

Picture Las Vegas with a touch of Disneyland, covered in snow—that’s Whistler, in a nutshell.
Located just a couple of hours from Vancouver, Canada, Whistler is a mecca for skiers and snowboarders—but you don’t have to be a ski bunny to have a great time there. Spend your morning doing an extreme activity of your choice (zip lining, bungee jumping, or snowmobiling—decisions, decisions!), then unwind with your girls at the spa for some R&R. Fuel up with a dinner at one of many fine dining restaurants in the Village, then hit the underground to experience Whistler’s infamous party scene.
And that’s just day one.

Beach babes, unite—Byron Bay is full of mellow vibes and good times. This Australian beachside town is a hotspot for adventurous backpackers, so you know you’ll meet some interesting characters from around the world.
If you’re up for a little adventure yourself, take a surf lesson or try your hand at scuba diving. Oh, and no big deal, but we hear Chris Hemsworth (a.k.a. Thor) lives here…

Breathtaking architecture, stunning gardens (of both the nature and the beer variety), museum upon museum upon museum, and important cultural landmarks—you’ll find all this and much more in the bustling city of Munich.
You probably know Munich for its infamous Oktoberfest—which is absolutely worth visiting—but it’s just as fun to visit with your ladies any time of year. From shopping to steins, Munich is the perfect European hotspot to enjoy with your best buds.

Pack your bags and stuff yourselves into the car—we’re going on a road trip. The Pacific Coast Highway winds from one Instagram-worthy stop to another—no wonder it’s known as one of the best road trip routes in the USA.
If you’re up for it, we challenge your squad to tackle the entire 1,700-mile journey, from Forks, WA (ring a bell, Twilight fans?) to Oregon’s rugged coast through San Fran, Malibu, and all the way down to LA.

You already know that Vegas and NYC are fun for a girlfriend getaway, but that’s been done a million times. For something a little more novel, look no further than Nashville, Tennessee. This country music mecca obviously has a killer music scene, but it’s also got a dash of the Old West and plenty of cute neighborhoods to check out. Stay in a historic hotel, eat your way through one of the best foodie scenes in the country, and wrap it all up with a night on the town—at a honky tonk, of course.

If Mexican all-inclusives conjure up images of overcrowded spring break trips, think again—Tulum is where you want to escape for a taste of paradise (yup, Bachelor in Paradise is filmed here). Popular amongst the fashion blogger crew (and a favorite of Lauren Conrad), Tulum is all about relaxing by the beach, soaking up the sun, and sunset yoga on the sand. Green smoothies optional.

Magee Walker
Magee Walker was a late bloomer to the snowboard scene, but thankfully discovered the joys of the sport after moving to Vancouver and spending weekends in Whistler. She’s now lucky enough to call Whistler her full-time home and spends her days conquering the mountain, by foot in the summer and by snowboard boot in the winter.
